REPORT FOR THE ’GIVE A GIFT’ PROJECT

Venue: Model Primary School, Maitama, Abuja.
Participants: 60 students
Age Grade: 10-11 years
Grade: Primary 6
The Triola Aina Foundation, in collaboration with the Abuja Global Shapers and Read2Succeed, on December 15, 2017 visited the Model Primary School, Maitama. The objective of our visit was to encourage academic excellence among students by presenting them with gifts.
The meeting started at 1030hrs with a formal introduction of the Teams to the Head Teacher and her assistants. Volunteer members of the Triola Aina Foundation, Abuja Global Shapers & Read2Succed had a brief chat with them regarding the aim of our visit. The Head Teacher and the other school instructors were appreciative of the gesture and added that it will go a long way in promoting educational excellence.
Simi of Read2Succeed gave a 10-minute talk on the Dreamers Project and every participant recited the Dreamers’ Anthem. Onome of the Triola Aina Foundation and Doris of the Abuja Global Shapers supported in the presentation of gifts to the students who stood out in the vision board exercise which included:
- Tamar the Academic Professor;
- Mirabel the Journalist and
- Isa the Civil Engineer
This is in line with the TAF mandate to encourage education particularly at the grassroots levels. TAF was represented by Tony, the Logistics Coordinator and Onome, the Communications Coordinator. The visit was interactive and fun-filled.
